Dublin Airport announced on Saturday that its Terminal 2 has reopened after a brief closure caused by a security alert. The airport confirmed in a statement on X that passengers would be allowed to re-enter and flights were expected to resume within 30 minutes of the all-clear being given.
Other Disruptions and Impacts
In addition to the security alert, the airport was also affected by a Europe-wide software issue impacting several major European airports, including London’s Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin. The issue was caused by a cyberattack on Collins Aerospace, a service provider for check-in and boarding systems, which led to delays for multiple airlines, including UAE-based Etihad Airways.
