A cyberattack on a service provider for airport check-in and boarding systems has caused significant disruption at several major European airports, including London Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin. The attack targeted Collins Aerospace, which provides automated systems for many airlines. This has made automated check-in and boarding systems inoperable, forcing airports to resort to manual procedures and causing numerous delays and flight cancellations.
Impact and Response
The affected airports have advised passengers to check their flight status with their airlines before traveling. While the attack has had a widespread impact, it has not affected all airports. Officials from Frankfurt and Zurich airports have confirmed that their systems were not impacted. The service provider is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
