Cillian Murphy Confirms He’s Not Playing Lord Voldemort

“Oppenheimer” star Cillian Murphy has officially put an end to the rumors that he will play Lord Voldemort in the upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series. During an appearance on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Murphy stated he was aware of the speculation but confirmed he had no involvement with the project. He also joked about his attachment to his own nose, a playful nod to the character’s unique facial features.

The Legacy of Ralph Fiennes

Murphy acknowledged the high standard set by Ralph Fiennes, who originally portrayed the iconic villain in the film series. Fiennes, who has since expressed a willingness to reprise the role, had previously spoken in favor of Murphy for the part, calling him a “fantastic actor.” Despite Fiennes’s endorsement, Warner Bros. Television has yet to announce the official casting for Voldemort.
